What we keep.
Sociogene publishes outside reads from public information, and we collect as little as possible. The self-assessment is no longer offered. If you took it, or if you left an email so we could send a report, those records are still kept. They are not shown on the site. We never sell your data, and we never publish your organization's result. Here is the detail.
Outside reads.
An outside read is written from public sources such as an association's website, programs, and history. The page we publish names the organization, because the source material is already public. It is Sociogene's reading, not an official page of that organization.
Earlier assessments.
If you completed the assessment, we may still hold the de-identified scores from that submission: the four positions that placed the result on the map, with no name and no email when it was taken anonymously. Those records are kept so the model can be studied. They are not listed on the site. When nothing identifying was stored, they cannot be traced back to you.
Earlier emails.
If you asked us to email a result or a fuller report, we still hold the email address you gave and the result tied to it. Those lead records are kept and are not shown publicly. We do not send new mail about them unless you ask. You can request deletion.
How we use what we already hold.
De-identified scores may support study of how associations vary. They are not shown as individual results, and they are never tied to you when you took the assessment anonymously. An email and result, if you opted in, stay on file so we can answer a request from you. We do not use them to publish your organization.
What we never do.
We never sell or rent your data. We never attach your organization's name to a result without your action. And we never rank or grade you, because Sociogene describes patterns, not performance.
Cookies and analytics.
We use a small amount of privacy-friendly analytics to see how the site is used and to improve it, and we keep this minimal and avoid invasive tracking.
Your choices and rights.
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the information we hold, and you can delete your account at any time. The simplest way is the Contact page, choosing "data request," or emailing hello@sociogene.com. We reply within a few days.
Keeping your data safe.
We keep identifying data only as long as it is useful to you and protect it with reasonable safeguards. De-identified scores may be kept to support the field and research, since they cannot be linked back to you.
Changes.
If we update this policy, we will change the date below and flag anything meaningful.
